At Clifton, you become part of a professional community that thrives on the contributions of junior and seasoned team members alike. Our new team members bring fresh ideas and contribute to the multiple perspectives from which we view challenges. This promotes the innovation and agility that keeps us thriving.
Clifton is currently searching for a Field Technician / Technologist to join our Calgary office and assist with a variety of field projects in AB, BC, SK, and surrounding areas. As part of our Materials Engineering Practice Team, you will assist in the delivery of high-quality field and laboratory testing services.

Performing field work at various local and remote project and construction sites where the ability to lift and move items and equipment weighing up to 50lbs is required.
Submitting accurate, detailed, and timely digital and physical project paperwork daily.
Applying knowledge of CSA and ASTM testing methods and standards in conjunction with project standards and requirements to support project delivery and handle non-conformance issues.
Liaising with internal project managers, external contractors, and client representatives to provide high quality service to all stakeholders on the project.
Complying with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) guidelines, ensuring adherence to all applicable legislation, standards, and Clifton’s own health and safety policies.
Performing other duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Minimum of two (2) years of civil materials testing experience. Completion of a Civil Engineering Technology diploma an asset but not required.
Must have a valid Class 5 Canadian Driver’s License (no GDL) and provide a clean Driver’s Abstract as a condition of employment.
CCiL/CSA certification is preferred. Training will be provided to obtain certification, if required.

Strong organizational skills, including effective management of multiple and conflicting priorities, with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to assess and initiate tasks independently, review and interpret results, and collaborate with the project team, as required.
Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word and Excel).
Contribute to a positive work environment, conducting oneself in a professional and ethical manner.
Knowledge of HSE guidelines and safe work practices, with a proven ability to contribute to a safe and respectful work environment.
