The Medical Assistant will support doctors and patients by managing patient care, documenting medical history, and performing clinical tasks such as injections and EKG readings. They are also responsible for organizing appointments, processing paperwork, and maintaining treatment rooms and medical instruments.
Candidates should ideally hold CMA or RMA licensing and possess proficiency in medical office management systems and patient management software. A reliable method of transportation is required for the position.
Description
As a Medical Assistant you will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.
Interview patients and document basic medical history
Obtain full patient vital signs
Prepare and administer injections
Perform EKG, PFT, Orthostatic readings, vision screenings
Wound dressing and suture removal
Advising and instructing patients about medications, diagnostic testing, lab results as directed by provider.
Organize and schedule appointments as needed
Arrange home health, laboratory, diagnostic testing services
Assist during medical examinations and procedures
Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
Complete and process necessary patient paperwork
Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and priorities work
Social perceptiveness and service oriented
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and planning skills
Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
EMR experience
Lab experience a plus
X-ray certification a plus
Requirements
CMA or RMA licensing preferred
