Job Title: Facility Manager Status: Full time, exempt

Reports to: Area Operations Manager Location: Coshocton & Hebron, Ohio

Position Objective: To plan, supervise, and coordinate personnel and facility operations in a manner that will optimize Centerra's profitability, market share, and safety, by improving operational efficiencies and providing exceptional customer service. These responsibilities involve planning, organizing, and directing the personnel, operations, safety/environment, assets, maintenance, and performing other duties assigned by the Area Operations Manager. The facility manager will maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within Centerra and a favorable image of Centerra.

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for financial performance of the locations
  • Work with Area Operations Manager to ensure established standards for the grading, handling, and storage of grain are met
  • Continued monitoring of stored grain
  • Work with grain marketing and origination staff to develop plans for handling of inbound and outbound commodities
  • Oversee measurement of bins and tanks and investigate where variances are present
  • Oversee grain blending with container loading
  • Assist with truck and railcar loading
  • Ensure the plant and grain facility is properly staffed for maximum efficiency
  • Efficiently manage the aeration system and temperature detection system to maintain quality
  • Maintain the highest level of housekeeping which will help with grain quality and quantity by eliminating infestation and loss of product
  • Work with Area Operations Manager to establish strategic partnerships with outside vendors with overall long term vest interest of the co-op in mind
  • Develop relationships with regional users of soybean meal and oil, coordinating calling efforts with VP of Grain Merchandising
  • Establish and monitor daily and monthly production goals in conversation with sales team and operations
  • Increase sales of soybean meal and oil to regional users of soybean meal and oil
  • Stay abreast of national and global industry trends and understand their potential impact locally
  • Complete a daily inventory on oil and meal
  • Establish inventory control procedures and implement procedures to ensure accurate and timely customer invoicing
  • Review and monitor quality and plant processes and build knowledge of daily operations to maximize efficiency
  • Monitor operational measures to maximize output of beanmeal and oil per hour, per machine, and per bushel
  • Define production goals (daily, monthly) invoicing sales and operations
  • Gain knowledge on extruder operations, including the process to rebuild presses and enable team to become comfortable with procedure
  • Ensure that all FSMA rules and regulations are followed
  • Assist with truck loading and unloading as necessary to ensure safe practices
  • Assure employees receive proper training relevant to specific job tasks
  • Establish goals and expectations for the location and for the individual team members as well as a development plan for each as needed
  • Complete performance reviews for individual team members and provide regular feedback to measure progress
  • Determine compensation levels for the operations team, including office support

Safety & Environmental

  • Work with Safety Coordinator and administer all established safety programs
  • Responsible for following regulatory issues that pertain to your location
  • Make safety a part of our everyday procedures and culture and expect team members to be active participants in the safety program
  • Required to maintain compliance with all local and state laws and ensure compliance with all environmental laws and regulations
  • Maintain compliance and friendly working relationships with local authorities and neighbors
  • Assure that we are good steward of the environment and natural resources

Assets and Maintenance: Maintenance involves maintaining property, facilities, and equipment

  • Ensure property, facilities, and equipment remain in good repair and appearance. Establish and promote the highest standards of housekeeping and cleanliness
  • Make recommendations on replacement, additions, or deletions of equipment when needed and/or economically justified
  • Maintain and follow the preventative maintenance program for your facility
  • Approach equipment and facility maintenance with the goal of avoiding preventable breakdowns

  • Maintain the highest level of housekeeping, clutter reduction, and organization to improve appearance of the facility which will promote Centerra's integrity and reputation

Education: High School Graduate or equivalent

Skills: Excellent verbal and listening skills, problem solving skills, strong attention to detail skills.
