Position Summary
The busser is responsible for setting and clearing tables, placing and replacing silverware, keeping beverage glasses full and adhering to sanitation and safety policies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Cleaning machines and appliances, such as coffee & tea makers, glass washers and bread warmer. Maintain the general cleanliness and orderliness of the coffee and bread station during service. Set up bread trays and butter dishes for service, and prepare coffee and tea beverages to order Properly sets-up coffee and bread stations, performs side-work and other opening/closing procedures as directed by management. Sort soiled China, glasses, and silverware outside the break down area, polishing glasses/silverware and restocking server stations. Always maintain general cleanliness and stock paper supply in guest restrooms during service. Emptying trash, receptacles, sweeping floors, restocking all supplies in the dining room and ensure that the dining areas and service stations are clean and organized. Anticipate and accommodate the needs of guests while providing professional and exceptional service to ensure guest satisfaction. Communicates the needs of the guests to Front-of-House and Back-of-House support staff, servers, managers, and chefs. Protects establishment, guests, and employees by adhering to Department of Health and Company sanitation standards. Reports all breakage, damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management. Attends and participates in daily pre-service meetings. Updates knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities. Maintain professional appearance standards as directed in the Employee Handbook.
Our Ideal Candidate
Previous busser/hospitality experience in a high-volume restaurant/lounge. Must be able to stand, lift, and bend for extended periods of time. Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs. Role may include job duties or tasks requiring repetitive motion. Exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials may occur. Must be able to work and remain focused in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of varying shifts such as days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
