Provide essential support to veterinarians during outpatient exams, diagnosis, and treatment of companion animals. Act as a key liaison between the veterinarian and clients to foster trust and ensure high-quality patient care.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and prefers one year of veterinary experience. Candidates must be able to lift 50lbs and work a flexible schedule of approximately 40 hours per week.

We are seeking a full time Veterinary Assistant to add to our amazing team. At Big Lick Vet, we believe in treating every patient as if they were our own pet, and giving them the same loving attention and care. We are a group of highly trained, experienced animal lovers who are devoted to practicing progressive veterinary medicine and we pride ourselves on the level of care and compassion we provide to both our clients and patients. We're looking for someone to join our team who will share in our commitment to delivering exceptional service and the highest quality care in a client and patient friendly environment. Compensation will vary depending on experience and skill.
The Veterinary Assistant provides essential support to the veterinarian during outpatient exams and throughout the diagnosis and treatment of patients. They care for all patients, assist with medical procedures, and help ensure each patient receives high-quality, compassionate care. In this role, the Veterinary Assistant also serves as a key connection between the veterinarian and clients. Through exceptional service and communication, the Veterinary Assistant helps build trust and foster lasting relationships with clients and their pets.
Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday 7:30am to 5:30pmBenefits:
Some qualities we look for in an ideal candidate:
Education: High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience: Veterinary - 1 Year (Preferred)
Schedule: Four days per week Monday-Friday, approximately 10 hours per day. Must be able to work a flexible schedule and be available for scheduling during all hours the practice is open to support hospital operations.
