As a Nurse Practitioner on our elite clinical team, you’ll work alongside world-renowned physicians to deliver cutting-edge, compassionate care. Whether in the clinic, or at the bedside, your role will be vital to improving outcomes for patients facing complex neurological conditions.

What You'll Do: You’ll be the bridge between our physicians and patients, playing a hands-on role in comprehensive care. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting physical exams, taking medical histories, and managing both acute and chronic conditions
  • Assisting in procedures, administering medications and injections, and performing wound suturing
  • Triaging patient concerns and managing clinical follow-ups
  • Participating in hospital rounds and taking after-hours/weekend call rotation
  • Educating patients and families, ensuring clarity and comfort throughout the care journey
  • Collaborating with our integrated care teams to ensure continuity and quality of care

Where You'll Work:

  • High-performance medical offices and exam rooms
  • State-of-the-art hospital operating rooms
  • A dynamic, multidisciplinary team environment focused on innovation and excellence

  Physical & Emotional Demands:

  • Mobility required for sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting during patient interaction
  • Ability to assist in patient transfers and respond calmly in high-pressure situations
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree and graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or RNFA program
  • Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Arizona and national certification (RNFA)
  • Board Certification, DEA license, and current CPR certification
  • At least 1 year of NP experience in a hospital, pain clinic, or PM&R clinic

Why Barrow Brain and Spine? As a premier destination for neurosurgical care, we offer more than a job — we offer purpose. You’ll be part of a mission-driven organization dedicated to advancing neuroscience, pushing the limits of possibility, and improving lives one patient at a time. Ready to make an impact where it matters most? Apply now and bring your expertise to the team that’s redefining neurological care.

Requirements

What You’ll Need to Succeed: We’re looking for a Nurse Practitioner who combines clinical excellence with compassionate care and a collaborative spirit. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Strong knowledge of acute and chronic care protocols, medication administration, and physical care techniques aligned with treatment plans
  • Familiarity with health promotion strategies and patient education best practices
  • Sharp analytical skills to assess physiological, emotional, and social patient data
  • A consistently positive, professional demeanor — even in high-pressure or fast-paced environments
  • Outstanding communication skills — written, verbal, and over the phone — with the ability to navigate sensitive conversations with empathy and tact
  • A proactive approach to prioritizing multiple tasks and adapting to changing needs
  • A team-first attitude with the ability to build effective working relationships across clinical and administrative roles
  • Flexibility to occasionally support care delivery during evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed

Providing world-class neurosurgery through innovative, compassionate and coordinated care to meet each of our individual patient's needs. While we’re lifelong students in the world of brain and spine advancements, we also drive much of that discovery and achievement through our association with our hospital partners. We diagnose and treat a wide array of complex conditions and have proven, evidence-based outcomes. We’re exhaustive in our process to find the right solution for our patients, whether surgical or non-surgical. We don’t share the following facts to be boastful, but rather to illustrate how we’ve shaped the world of neurosurgery. That’s the type of expertise you should demand as a patient. We perform more than 10,000 procedures per year, giving us the confidence and expertise to handle complex cases that many other centers simply can’t treat. We’ve pioneered numerous procedures and techniques, including the cardiac standstill surgery, neuro-spinal scaffolding implants, the development of a spinal surgery robot, and more. Our surgeons developed new approaches to reach lesions in the difficult-to-reach skull-base area of the brain, enabling removal of what was previously considered inoperable. Through our partnership with Barrow Neurological Institute, patients have access to hundreds of clinical trials, enabling more aggressive treatment options, sooner. Mission: We’re honored to call Barrow our home. It enables us to find answers where all other paths lead to “no.” Here, we strive to make the impossible possible.
