We are seeking a Compliance Officer to join our Compliance team in Amsterdam. This is not a traditional compliance role. Working at the heart of a fast-paced trading and market-making business, you will help navigate an evolving regulatory landscape while partnering closely with Trading, Risk, Operations, and Technology. Compliance is deeply integrated into the business, giving you broad exposure to regulatory, trading, operational, and strategic topics. The role offers significant ownership, autonomy, and responsibility, with the opportunity to make a visible impact in a highly collaborative environment that values initiative, independent thinking, and high-quality work. You'll work alongside ambitious professionals who enjoy solving complex problems together, in one of Amsterdam's most dynamic compliance roles at the intersection of regulation, technology, and financial markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessing and implementing new regulation in a fast-moving trading and market-making environment where regulatory developments and business initiatives evolve continuously.
- Maintaining and monitoring compliance policies and procedures, while ensuring they remain practical and effective for a highly dynamic business.
- Preparing high-quality reports for management and regulators by collecting and analyzing information.
- Monitoring trading activity and working closely with the business to identify, assess, and address compliance risks.
- Resolving issues in close contact with Trading, Trading Support, Operations and the Risk team.
- Leading and contributing to cross-functional projects, translating regulatory requirements into scalable business processes and controls.
- Engaging directly with regulators and supporting regulatory inquiries, examinations and reporting obligations.
- Maintaining our professional knowledge by organizing trainings, workshops, and exams.
- Taking ownership of initiatives from idea to implementation, with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility.
Key Requirements
- 2–5 years' experience in compliance, consulting or legal, ideally in financial services.
- You have a solid grasp of the EU regulatory frameworks that shape our business — MiFID II, MAR, EMIR, DORA, and IFR/IFD.
- Comfortable leading projects and translating regulatory requirements into practical solutions.
- Analytical and data-driven, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Able to influence stakeholders across the business while remaining open to challenge.
- Thrive in fast-moving environments where no two days look the same.
