The mechanical engineer will develop equipment and piping specifications, perform hydraulic and stress calculations, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to complete design drawings. They will also manage project technical tasks, interact with vendors and contractors, and ensure all design work adheres to safety and industry standards.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and possess at least 2 years of relevant experience in industrial or power generation projects. An EIT certification is required, with the expectation to obtain a Professional Engineering (PE) license within one year.

AECOM has a position available for a mid-career Mechanical Engineer to support our multi-disciplinary design team addressing the most challenging engineering tasks in power generation. AECOM's broad technical capabilities, global footprint and experience in executing large scale projects uniquely position us to lead in traditional steam, thermal power generation and advanced nuclear technologies. This includes being a part of the first-of-a-kind program with AECOM partners advancing the innovative stellarator technology to the world.

For this role, AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices located in multiple locations across the United States.
The successful candidate is expected to be a detail-oriented, experienced engineer who can make decisions independently under the guidance of senior staff. It is an excellent career opportunity for an engineer with a strong technical background and looking to grow into a project technical leadership role.
