Clera is an AI talent agent matching candidates to 600+ startups via warm intros. No applications. $3M pre-seed, 80,000+ users and a new product.
Clera is an AI talent agent. You tell us what you want. We match you to roles at 600+ venture-backed startups and introduce you directly to the founder or hiring manager. Not tailoring your resume for the fourteenth time. Not applying into a void and hoping someone on the other end actually reads the thing. But instead, first conversations within hours.
This is Clera. 80,000+ candidates and 600+ startups are already on the platform. Today we're opening the next chapter: a $3M raise, and the biggest updates to the product since we started.

Here's the simplest way to explain it.
You know that friend who texts you out of nowhere: "Hey - I know a founder building something wild. Your name came up. Want an intro?"
That friend who just knows people, knows what you're good at, and only puts you in front of things worth your time?
That's Clera. We built that friend. Except ours never sleeps, knows thousands of the best operators, engineers, and designers in the startup world, and remembers everything about what you actually want. We represent candidates from teams like Stripe, Ramp, Linear, OpenAI, and a hundred other companies you've heard of (and a few you haven't, yet).
Clera knows which kind of job you want, what you're good at, and which opportunities are actually worth your time. It introduces you to founders directly, preps you before conversations, follows up after interviews, and helps you navigate offers. You never fill out an application. You never send a cold email. Clera takes over the entire process of getting you in the room and keeping you there through the finish line.
For founders, flip it around. Tell us what you're building. We find the right person, give them real context on your company, make the intro, and stay involved through the hire. You skip the pipeline entirely and go straight to talking to great people.
For most of our candidates, this is the first time anyone has been in their corner, not the company's. For most of our founders, it's the first time hiring has felt like a conversation instead of a funnel.
A year ago, we were living in hackerhouses across Latin America. Loud apartments. Unreliable WiFi. And some of the sharpest builders we'd ever been around. People from all over the world who'd left comfortable jobs to work on hard problems in uncomfortable places.
The thing that stuck with us: none of the best people we met had found their last role through a job board. Not one. They got there because someone who knew their work made a call. A warm intro, a friend of a friend, someone who vouched for them in a room they weren't in.
Meanwhile, the hiring infrastructure everyone relied on was built for a different era. Job boards, applicant tracking systems, recruiter spam, all designed around volume. Post a listing, get 500 applications, pray that the right one is somewhere in the pile.
That felt broken. Not just inefficient, structurally broken. The people you most want to hire are the ones least likely to be found through the systems designed to find them.
So we started building. Released Clera, kept shipping, and eventually moved to San Francisco. Today we operate across the biggest startup hubs in the world: SF, New York, Austin, Germany, and the UK.
This update is the biggest since we started. We rebuilt the matchmaking from scratch. Redesigned how candidates and founders communicate with Clera. Built a deeper data layer, and a learning system that improves with every single intro - every hire teaches it something, every pass does too. And we wrapped the whole thing in a new visual identity. New engine, new paint.
And the timing isn't accidental. AI is changing what teams look like. One engineer with the right tools can ship what took a team of five two years ago. That doesn't mean companies need fewer people. It means the bar for who they hire is higher, the roles are different, and finding the right person for the right seat matters more than filling headcount.
At the same time, the best candidates are quietly opting out of the traditional funnel. They're not browsing job boards. They're not responding to cold recruiter emails. They're relying on closed networks, warm introductions, and their own reputation to find what's next. More volume, less signal. More tools, less trust.
We see the way people find work being fundamentally rewired. The question used to be 'who's looking for a job?' Now it's 'who's the right person for this, right now?'
We didn't invent that shift. But we're building for it.
We're building toward a talent agent that knows your career the way a great mentor does, your strengths, your blind spots, the kind of team where you do your best work. One that can tell you "this one's perfect for where you are right now" or "honestly, skip this one", and be right about both. Not matching keywords on a resume. Understanding why someone who built payments at Stripe is exactly who a climate tech startup needs right now.
Here's what we think about a lot: the way people access work is changing. It used to be open, searchable, public. Post a job, anyone can apply. What's replacing that might be more efficient, but it could also be more closed. We want to build the version that opens doors for people who are great but don't have the right network yet, not just the ones who already know everyone.
That's bigger than replacing a job board. It's about making sure the next era of work is one where the best people get found, no matter where they come from.
We raised a $3M pre-seed to make that happen. Led by 1984 Ventures, with Deel Ventures and angels from a16z, Sequoia, EQT, OpenAI, LinkedIn, Apple, and more. 1984 gets what it means to build for developers and operators. Deel has been at the center of how global work actually moves. And our angels have spent years inside the companies that shaped how hiring works today.
To the 80,000+ candidates who trusted us with their careers before we had a brand, a press release, or a website that wasn't embarrassing - you're the reason this exists. Everything we build is built around one idea: your time and talent are worth protecting.
To the 700+ startups getting intros through Clera - thank you for betting on a different way of finding your team. You took a chance on "we'll intro you to the right person" over "here's a stack of 200 resumes."
To our investors at 1984 Ventures, Deel, BFF, BlueWireCapital, Insiders and every angel who backed us. Thank you!
