I am a highly motivated candidate pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics at the Georgia Institute of Technology. As a problem solver with a passion for innovation, I am committed to making a positive impact in the field of biomedical engineering. I am particularly interested in the research areas of Cancer Technologies and Cardiovascular Engineering within the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering. In addition to my academic pursuits, I am eager to further develop my skills in programming languages such as Python, C++, Matlab, and Java, as well as software programs such as CAD. I am an independent, friendly, flexible, and driven individual who thrives on working collaboratively with others, regardless of language barriers. I approach my work with a sense of urgency and a focus on achieving both interpersonal and intrapersonal goals. Resourcefulness and a strong problem-solving mindset enable me to overcome obstacles and complete projects to the best of my abilities. I am committed to building and leveraging relationships with my colleagues to achieve our collective goals. As a team player, I am always attentive to the direction of the group and focused on achieving our shared objectives. KEEN Undergraduate Researcher Fellows Program

Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University Mert Duezguen will participate in the KEEN Undergraduate Researcher Fellows Program, backed by the Kern Family Foundation and guided by Dr. Maysam Nezafati and Dr. Kyriaki Kalaitzidou. This initiative aims to empower undergraduates by cultivating research skills and an entrepreneurial mindset, either enhancing existing capabilities or preparing for future research. The program includes two 120-minute workshops in April, followed by mentorship with a faculty research mentor for projects in summer/fall 2024. Fellows receive a $500 stipend for research expenses, a chance to engage in the KEEN Research Pitch Competition, and a prestigious certificate upon completion.
