About
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of contributing to various engineering disciplines, research teams, operational groups, and design efforts at multiple NASA centers, SpaceX, The Aerospace Corporation, and Blue Origin. Currently, I am actively involved in the Moon to Mars architecture, playing a part in humanity’s return to the lunar surface and paving the way for future exploration beyond. As a leader, I emphasize leadership through influence, fostering collaboration and innovation without relying on formal authority. However, I maintain the highest expectations for both my team and myself, ensuring that excellence remains at the forefront of our efforts. In 2014, I founded the Akronauts Rocket Design Team, where I channel my passion for engineering into educational outreach. As “Ksmooth the Engineering Dude,” I dedicate significant time to empowering the next generation by teaching them essential engineering tools and fostering enthusiasm for STEM fields. Looking ahead, my professional ambitions include: - Completing my PhD - Becoming an astronaut - Serving as a U.S. Senator - Engaging in international space policy development I am always eager to explore new research collaborations and outreach opportunities. Please feel free to reach out if you'd like to connect. Thank you! See below for some of my special achievements throughout my career: - Forbes 30 under 30 in Science, 2017 - Aviation Week's 20 Twenties, 2018 (Highest rating out of the top 20) - Alfa Young Professional Fellow, 2019 (One of 18 chosen from the US, Germany and the UK) - Georgia Tech's 40 under 40, 2021 - Space and Satellite Professionals International 20 Under 35, 2023 - NASA's Spaceflight Awareness Trailblazer Award, 2023 - The University of Akron's 5 under 35, 2024 - American Astronautical Society Patti Grace Smith Award, 2024
