Luther Rice Undergraduate Research Fellowship

Associated with The George Washington University Luther Rice Undergraduate Research Fellowships are competitive, Dean-sponsored $5,000 research grants for students in the the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences awarded to winning proposals to promote discovery- and inquiry-based education. The Rice Fellowships offer support for student research carried out in collaboration with, and under the guidance of, at least one faculty mentor. I will be analyzing the impact of the 2004 European Union Expansion on macroeconomic stability for the ten joining economies as measured by indicators: median national income, GDP, unemployment, and inflation. The Kingdom of Morocco will also be analyzed as a foil to further find causation between liberalized trade and economic stability, as the economies weathered the 2009 global slowdown.
