I started working as an IT assistant at UC Berkeley for the Math Department my sophomore year of college, while pursuing a degree in Economics. After graduating, I was chosen to be a part of William-Sonoma's IT Internship Program, working with the Desktop Technicians and Workstation Engineers team. After the internship ended, I accepted an Assistant Control Buyer position for Inventory Management under the Pottery Barn brand. I have assisted Control Buyers and Senior Control Buyers for all of the Furniture & Lighting departments (Dining, Occasional/Media, Home Office, Bedroom, Outdoor, & Lighting) as well as helping out with the Table Top department. I have gained experience writing purchase orders, running buy plans, forecasting projections for upcoming seasons, and a general sense of how the retail industry works from an inventory perspective. I believe that my IT background has helped me learn to use many various systems and pick-up new technologies, while my Economics background has helped me with real world perspectives and planning & forecasting strategies. I am always looking to learn new things to broaden my knowledge and am always willing to help others with questions or problems. After over 3 years at Pottery Barn, I accepted a position at Salesforce where I worked for 4 years as a Procurement Analyst, then moving to my current position at Zendesk, Inc as a Procurement Operations Specialist.
