Aditya Srikanth Veerubhotla

I am a natural language processing researcher and engineer with a master’s degree from CMU, LTI and a bachelor’s degree from BITS, Pilani. I have a passion for developing and deploying cutting-edge NLP solutions for various tasks and domains. I have worked as an applied scientist at Microsoft Bing, where I improved the People Also Ask pane by applying ranking, relevance classification, topic recommendation, question generation, distillation, grammatical error detection, and multilingual NLP techniques. I have also interned as an applied scientist at Amazon, where I proposed a novel self-training method for bootstrapping self-rationalization models that can generate predictions and explanations with minimal supervision. At CMU, I conducted research on information retrieval, cross-lingual open domain QA, conversational QA, and code generation. At BITS, Pilani, I conducted research on aspect based sentiment analysis and computational sarcasm detection. I have published seven papers in top-tier venues such as ACL, KDD, Neurocomputing, IEEE Access and CoDS-COMAD with 170+ citations on Google Scholar. I have also won awards for my research work, such as the first prize in DialDoc’22 shared task (UNSEEN) and the best research talk award at Microsoft’s internal ML and Data Science conference.
