Let’s create a brighter future together, let’s make a difference

It’s important to know, what you do matters. At Zurich, we don’t just cover, we care.

This role sits within Zurich’s SME General Insurance business, focused on improving and evolving our underwriting and product capabilities. As a Product Owner, which we internally refer to as Product Manager, you'll own the product strategy, roadmap and lifecycle, ensuring your product delivers meaningful outcomes for customers and the business.
In this role, you’ll operate across Zurich’s broker platforms and connectivity ecosystem, helping to simplify how we integrate with partners and enable seamless digital experiences. You’ll balance the need to modernise our technology landscape while continuing to support and optimise existing platforms, reducing complexity and delivering scalable, future-ready solutions.

You’ll work closely with underwriting, technology and delivery teams to shape outcomes that drive both customer and commercial value. This is a hands-on role where you’ll move between strategy and execution, with a strong emphasis on understanding the underwriting domain and delivering practical, high-impact improvements. You’ll also work as part of a product trio with design and engineering to test assumptions, solve complex problems and deliver meaningful outcomes.

You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Define and deliver a clear, data-informed product strategy and roadmap that supports both platform modernisation and ongoing optimisation of existing capabilities
  • Prioritise opportunities that balance customer value, business outcomes, technical dependencies and the reduction of legacy complexity and tech debt
  • Drive improvements to underwriting processes, including referral optimisation, rating enhancements and data integration
  • Partner closely with underwriting, technology and delivery teams to translate business needs into clear product direction
  • Manage and prioritise the backlog, ensuring the squad is focused on high value initiatives
  • Lead delivery across complex initiatives with dependencies across multiple squads and systems
  • Engage stakeholders to shape solutions and ensure alignment across business and technical teams

Important to your success – let’s grow together

You are a curious and customer-focused thinker who enjoys solving complex problems and turning ideas into meaningful outcomes. You bring people together, build trust with stakeholders, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where collaboration and adaptability are key.

In order to be successful, you will have the following:

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner within general insurance, ideally with exposure to underwriting environments or SME portfolios.
  • An understanding of underwriting processes, including referral rules, risk assessment and rating logic is highly regarded.
  • Experience working with underwriting or broker platforms, or equivalent competitor systems, with an ability to quickly transfer that knowledge.
  • Ability to operate across both product and analysis, including shaping requirements and stepping into BA level responsibilities where needed.
  • Comfort working in multi squad environments, managing dependencies and driving outcomes across interconnected teams.
  • Balanced commercial and technical mindset, with a focus on delivering business outcomes rather than purely technical solutions.
