Project Quality Engineer

About The Team

We are looking for a new colleague as our Project Quality Engineer for APAC projects, Division Aftermarket at our location of Kunshan, Jiangsu Province, China. 

What you can look forward to as Project Quality Engineer:

• Main Target: Drive early quality risk prevention and launch readiness for APAC Aftermarket projects. Ensure key quality risks, lessons learned, customer requirements and safe launch needs are identified before launch, and continous drive, manage, lead and/or execute the plant/location to develop and implement Quality Control Systems designed to ensure continuous production and quality performance.
• Project Quality Risk Review: Define quality involvement level based on project/ change risk category. Lead quality risk review based on VOC, lessons learned, product risk and market requirements. Ensure label, packaging, customer-specific and market requirements are considered before launch
• Launch Readiness & Safe Launch: Define safe launch/ launch control requirements when risk is identified. Align launch readiness with SDE, SQA, Ops Quality and related functions. Escalate project quality risks and readiness gaps for timely decision.
• Cross-Functional Quality Interface: Work with SDE on supplier readiness, PPAP status and supplier risk input. Work with SQA on first MP monitoring, launch feedback and supplier issue learning. Work with Ops Quality on launch monitoring readiness where project risk requires operational execution.
• Lesson Learned & Prevention Implementation: Convert customer, supplier, launch and field issues into future prevention requirements. Drive read-across to similar products/ projects. Maintain project quality risk checklist and lesson learned input.
• Project Quality Performance Monitoring: Track project quality readiness status. Monitor closure of risk mitigation actions. Report launch risk and prevention status to management/ project team. 

Your Profile as Project Quality Engineer:

• Bachelor degree on science or engineering field or equivalent curriculum.
• 5+ years experience in Quality, or Project Quality, or Supplier Quality within automotive environment. Has solid knowledge and skilled in using related quality tools like APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, 8D and 5 Why.
• Experience in launch readiness, supplier quality or production quality topics. Solid experiences on Quality risk assessment and problem solving.
• Strong cross-functional coordination with Project Management, Engineering, SDE, SQA and Operations. Proven record of structured communication and stakeholder alignment.
• Trackable record of influencing without direct authority.
• Strong proactive prevention mindset, customer and business-oriented thinking.
