Sales Development Manager, Semiconductor
About this role
Main Tasks
- Market and growth opportunity development: Monitor semiconductor market dynamics, investment trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape in China; identify priority applications, customer groups, and growth opportunities that fit the RQS portfolio and overall business priorities.
- Target account and opportunity development: Map and prioritize relevant target accounts and ecosystem partners, engage customers to understand their process, quality, inspection, and measurement challenges, and translate qualified needs into actionable leads and commercial opportunities with the regional sales organization.
- Application and sales development: Work with Sales, Application/Product teams, and technical experts to develop suitable solution concepts, customer demonstrations, feasibility studies, proof-of-concept activities, and reference applications; provide customer insights, use cases, competitive positioning, and opportunity-specific support to regional sales teams.
- Global collaboration: Act as a key interface with relevant global teams, regularly exchange market and customer insights, align on priority applications and solution approaches, leverage global expertise and references for local business development, and provide structured feedback on emerging needs to support portfolio and solution roadmap discussions.
- Go-to-market and stakeholder coordination: Coordinate with regional Sales, Marketing, Service, Application/Product teams, and global stakeholders to support targeted campaigns, seminars, exhibitions, customer workshops, and other market development initiatives, ensuring clear ownership and timely follow-up.
- Pipeline and performance management: Maintain opportunity data in Salesforce, monitor lead conversion and pipeline progress, and provide regular updates on market developments, target accounts, opportunities, and follow-up actions.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering, materials science, physics, semiconductor technology, precision measurement, automation, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in sales development, business development, key account development, application sales, or a similar customer-facing role in the semiconductor industry.
- Good understanding of the semiconductor value chain.
- Strong market analysis, opportunity qualification, account planning, and project coordination capabilities.
- Proven track record of developing target accounts, supporting complex sales cycles, and coordinating cross-functional stakeholders.
Other skills
- Customer-oriented and able to communicate effectively with technical, quality, manufacturing, procurement, and management stakeholders.
- Able to work independently, set priorities, exercise sound commercial judgment, and take ownership of initiatives and follow-up, while collaborating effectively and influencing stakeholders in a matrix organization without relying on formal authority.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools such as Salesforce; able to prepare structured market and pipeline reports.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English as working languages.
- Willing and able to travel frequently within China.
