Position Summary:      

This position will help produce and coordinate a high volume of law school events, including our annual commencement, interacting with vendors, students, faculty, staff and alumni. This role will assist in tracking catering requisitions and invoice payments; overseeing the daily events email sent to the student body; and managing supplies and inventory. Serves as a liaison between students, faculty, administrators, alumni, vendors, and campus partners, collaborating across departments on a wide range of events. This position exercises a high degree of teamwork in managing multiple priorities, resolving day-to-day operational issues, coordinating vendors, and monitoring event-related expenditures, while referring complex or policy-related matters to the Director of Special Events.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage catering operations by coordinating with vendors, overseeing orders and deliveries, tracking catering requisitions, processing invoices, and maintaining event supplies and inventory
  • Serve as a point of contact for students, faculty, administrators, alumni, and external vendors, ensuring clear communication and customer service
  • Help coordinate and execute a diverse portfolio of events, including meetings, luncheons, student programs, conferences, VIP speaker events, receptions, dinners, and Commencement ceremonies
  • Track event metrics and maintain detailed records to evaluate event success, identify improvements, and support future planning
  • Review and finalize event floor plans, ensuring room setups are accurate, functional, and aligned with event specifications
  • Support team members during high-volume event periods by adapting to changing priorities and contributing wherever needed

Experience & Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree with preference for 2 years of related experience
  • Experience in an Academic Environment preferred: 1+ years
  • Event planning experience preferred: 1+ years

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
