Position: Youth Care Worker
Location: Bellwood, IL
Classification: Part-Time - Floater - On-Call
Salary: $19.91 per hour

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Youth Care Worker to support and mentor adolescent males in a residential program. This role focuses on helping youth develop life skills, maintain structure, and prepare for independence in a safe and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support youth with daily routines and life skills

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support

  • Assist with service plans and referrals

  • Supervise residents and ensure a safe environment

  • Conduct room checks and headcounts

  • Document activities and incidents

  • Provide transportation as needed

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or at least 60 college credit hours

  • At least 1 year of experience working with high-risk adolescents (preferred in a residential setting)

  • OR 3 years of experience working with at-risk youth instead of a degree

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Clean driving record

  • Reliable transportation (proof of insurance may be required)

Requirements:

  • Interest in working with youth

  • Ability to manage group activities

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations

  • Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries


Preferred:

  • Experience in residential or social service settings

  • Background in social services, psychology, or a related field

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
