Provide leadership and guidance to campers in all program areas.
Provide support in developing all camp games and themed skits /events
Responsible for running activities in program areas
Responsible for creating facility usage schedules (shower, trading post, trail rides, etc.)
Provide leadership and support as directed by organizing, or leading camp activities or by providing administrative office support as needed
Participate in Instructor training prior to staff training
Actively participate in staff training and staff meetings.
Assume responsibility for the heath/welfare of campers and staff entrusted to his/her charge.
Act as a positive role model for campers and other staff, demonstrating the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in the performance of job duties.
Observe camper and staff behavior and assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior management techniques.
Demonstrate proper care and storage of all equipment and supplies.
Provide and ensure proper set up and cleanup of all programs and events.
These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned, and other duties may be assigned as required.

QualificationsQualifications
At least 21 years of age.
High School diploma or equivalent required
Previous camp leadership.
Able to coordinate and supervise summer staff.
Must possess a cooperative spirit and be committed to character development by promoting and demonstrating caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility to campers, staff, and program participants
Must demonstrate leadership qualities-allowing for the development of personal and professional interpersonal relationships with staff, campers, parents, and others.
Must be committed to the mission of YMCA Camp Shady Brook and be an advocate and role model for staff and campers alike.
Previous experience and/or training in youth camping.
Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration certifications
