Summary: This position will facilitate, coordinate, research, purchase, and maintain inventory control accuracy/cycle counts of specialized equipment parts, instrumentation & general service repair items. The Parts and Service Planner is also responsible for maintaining the company's CMMS system.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Contact & coordinate repair services providers for contract maintenance of plant infrastructure equipment: HVAC, Air Compressors, Fork Truck, and General Facility Building Maintenance repairs.
  • Purchase machine parts, spare parts and supplies as needed by contacting vendors, requesting quotes, and submitting purchase requests via established procedures.
  • Research, analyze, and source mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components by reviewing technical specs (size, function, placement) and using all available vendor networks to secure proper replacement parts.
  • Perform local pickup and delivery of parts, tools, emergency MRO supplies and other materials as needed from local vendors and distributors to minimize machine downtime.
  • Receive and stock parts by Department and process section, ensuring 5S standards are maintained in the parts area.
  • Maintained high parts inventory accuracy by executing structured CMMS cycle-count schedules, conducting tri-weekly audits on high-velocity components, and delivering detailed quarterly discrepancy reports to the Facilities Engineering Manager.
  • Review work orders that are designated “pending review” and examine for completeness and accuracy before closing out the Work Order.
  • Provide report detailing the previous week’s Work Orders.
  • Control PM tracking and maintenance of the PM schedule for all production lines and facility.
  • Collaborate with department management, plant management, and facility management for the PM program.
  • Control / manage company pool car fleet, including maintenance, repairs, and key control.

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

 

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license with a clean driving record to perform local part pickups.
  • Purchasing, Maintenance Planners, CMMS Administrator or Inventory Control experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic technical knowledge to work with vendors on exact part specifications, ensuring accurate procurement and identifying high-quality aftermarket alternatives when OEM parts are unavailable.
  • Ability to navigate CMMS platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

 

Physical Demands:

 

The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and is expected to use proper lifting techniques at all times. Specific vision abilities required for this role includes close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use computer, telephone use hands to finger. The employee may occasionally be required to feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch, and talk or hear.

Travel Requirements:

The position requires local driving only (part pickups/deliveries within 30 miles); no overnight travel is required.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position. Individuals are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at designated times and in specified environments in accordance with established safety program requirements. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate. While performing job duties, individuals may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts.
