Measurement Tech I
About this role
The Measurement Tech I is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and accuracy of water measurement and control facilities. This includes flow computers, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) equipment, regulators, transducers, electronic and pneumatic controllers, relief valves, ultrasonic meters, turbine meters, and valves. The position performs routine audits of custody transfer and control data to ensure measurement accuracy and operational integrity. Daily travel to field locations throughout the Permian and Delaware Basins is required. The Measurement Tech I may also be asked to respond to after-hours callouts for equipment or operational issues and must be willing to work overtime as needed to support business operations.
Role/Responsibilities:
- Must be a self-starter and highly motivated.
- Install, maintain & operate, measurement equipment.
- Detect measurement errors and report to management as needed to provide supporting documentation.
- Monitor assigned area measurement systems and ensure all corrections and proper qualities are applied.
- Perform audits of custody transfer and control data when necessary.
- Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed.
- Oversee the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties.
- Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork.
- Perform all work in compliance with company standards, procedures, and regulatory and tariff requirements.
- Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic, electronic, and electrical equipment and controls.
- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, contractors, and the general public.
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions and with minimal direct supervision.
- Must be available for and provide an emergency response after regular business hours which may require carrying a personal cell phone.
- Actively support the company's safety program by identifying, reporting, and correcting safety and environmental concerns.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
- Speak, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills, and listen carefully.
- Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
- Minimum of three (3) years of meter measurement experience required.
- I&E (Instrumentation & Electrical) and SCADA experience preferred.
- Knowledge of electronic test instruments.
- Familiarity with API, and ASTM measurement standards.
- Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, and Outlook- able to manipulate large spreadsheets and databases
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
- Associates degree in a technical field or related area preferred. Relevant work experience that has developed equivalent technical/measurement-related skills may be considered instead of a degree.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, sit, bend, or climb for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more on a consistent basis
- Able to operate equipment and vehicles
