Job Summary: The Field Clerk supports daily operations of the WTG Lubbock Area office.
QualificationsKey Responsibilities
Answer and direct multi-line phone calls; provide accurate information to customers.
Assist and de-escalate interactions with rude or irate customers.
Create and complete work orders; support field technicians as needed.
Handle emergency locate requests across multiple districts.
Process walk-in payments, tally and balance cash, and prepare bank deposits.
Collect, open, and sort mail; maintain cash log entries.
Research and process billing adjustments; post payments.
Respond to customer questions about service connections, disconnections, billing, and payment arrangements.
Manage daily email correspondence.
Download/upload meter reading data.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of 1 year of prior experience in customer service, utilities, or clerical work.
Experience with CIS (Customer Information Systems) and utility software.
Relevant college coursework.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
