The Opportunity

Build the Future with Us - Lead the evolution of Applied Solutions services in British Columbia and Canada. As a Mining Technical Lead, you’ll bring deep expertise in construction in the mining sector to deliver high-impact projects. This role blends technical leadership, project delivery, and market growth — enabling you to shape complex mining projects while mentoring teams and expanding WSP’s presence in the Canadian mining market.


Your Impact

  • Lead the technical delivery of complex mining projects, ensuring innovative, safe, and cost-effective solutions
  • Drive the planning and implementation of construction projects.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on construction methodologies across diverse project environments
  • Oversee project execution from concept through construction, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget targets are met
  • Mentor and develop junior and intermediate engineers, strengthening technical capability across the team
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate execution into mining projects
  • Support business development by identifying opportunities and expanding WSP’s mining market presence in Canada
  • Build strong client relationships, delivering trusted advisory services and technical excellence

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • 15+ years of experience in mining, geotechnical or civil engineering or construction, including at least 5 years focused on mining projects.
  • Proven experience delivering completed mining projects across varying site conditions and project types
  • Understanding of mine closure, mine stability, tailings, mine waste & water management. 
  • Experience working executing construction in an EPCM, CM or prime contractor model.
  • Demonstrated leadership in technical review, design oversight, and project execution
  • Familiarity with the Canadian mining market, including client landscape and regulatory environment
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia (or eligibility to obtain) strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence clients and multidisciplinary teams

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $162,200 - $212,200
MB & ON: $148,000 - $198,000
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $146,500 - $194,600
