Responsabilidades

The Senior Underwriter Technology is a key contributor and thought leader within the Technology practice, responsible for the performance, profitability, and strategic development of the Technology portfolio. This role focuses on underwriting Technology E&O and packaged solutions combining Technology E&O, General Liability, Product Liability, and Cyber insurance, while mentoring colleagues and representing the Technology practice internally and externally.

 

  • Act as a key partner to the Department Manager in developing and executing local market strategies• Take ownership of portfolio segments, broker relationships, and strategic initiatives with accountability for growth, profitability, and portfolio quality• Identify emerging technology risks and new underwriting opportunities and translate insights into go-to-market initiatives• Contribute to product design, coverage enhancements, and market positioning• Perform end-to-end underwriting including submission triage, risk analysis, pricing, coverage structuring, wording selection, negotiation, and documentation• Exercise underwriting authority across Technology E&O and packaged solutions including Tech E&O, General Liability, Product Liability, and Cyber• Lead complex risk assessments including large limits, bespoke wordings, international programs, and nonstandard exposures• Ensure excellence across the underwriting lifecycle and maintain high-quality file documentation• Manage aggregate exposures, rate adequacy, and concentration risks• Take responsibility for portfolio performance, underwriting discipline, and governance standards• Promote best practices in pricing consistency, file quality, and audit readiness• Use portfolio data and analytics to identify trends and corrective actions• Collaborate with Claims, Operations, Finance, Legal, and underwriting teams to ensure consistent outcomes• Mentor and support underwriters and contribute to knowledge sharing across European teams• Drive innovation through adoption of AI-enabled underwriting tools and data analytics• Support implementation of digital workflows and analytical approaches• Use data-driven insights to improve risk selection, pricing quality, and market positioning• Encourage continuous improvement and innovation• Develop and maintain senior broker relationships and act as a trusted underwriting partner• Support broker development strategies and key account planning• Represent the Technology practice in client meetings and industry events• Align with Department Manager and Specialties leadership• Collaborate with US and European Technology teams to share best practices

Titulaciones

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of five years of underwriting experience in Technology E&O or a related segment• Strong experience in Cyber and General Liability or Product Liability (preferred)• Experience with multinational insurance placements• Proven ability to build and manage profitable portfolios• Strong track record in developing business relationships with brokers and clients• Fluency in German and English required• Additional languages are advantageous• Strong underwriting expertise and technical knowledge• Commercial judgment and decision-making capability• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership and accountability• Digital fluency including Microsoft 365 and data tools• Analytical thinking and ability to leverage data insights• Curiosity and continuous learning mindset• Collaboration and teamwork orientation• Resilience, reliability, and integrity• Demonstrated behaviors including courage, managing self, challenging the status quo, reflective listening, evidence-based decision making, and effective collaboration

 

Education Requirement

  • University degree, professional training in insurance, or equivalent practical experience
