The Role
Senior underwriting management role responsible for establishing, strategy and underwriting of the Surety portfolio across Asia, including direct retail and facultative reinsurance business. Accountable for portfolio performance, underwriting governance, distribution and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute Surety underwriting strategy for Asia
- Full accountability for underwriting performance and governance
- Underwrite commercial and construction surety risks
- Establish underwriting standards and credit discipline
- Analyse portfolio performance with actuarial, claims, legal and finance
- Develop broker and market relationships
- Build and lead the Surety underwriting team
- Participate in senior management planning and decision-making
The Candidate - Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Degree holder or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years relevant insurance experience including surety or related specialty lines
- Strong underwriting, credit and portfolio management capability
- Proven ability to build and manage a specialty underwriting portfolio
- Strong numeracy and financial acumen
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
