The Role

The Role

We are seeking a Fine Art & Specie Underwriter to join our Singapore team. This role is responsible for underwriting and managing both retail and facultative Fine Art & Specie business across Asia, while developing and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, cedants, and distribution partners.

Working closely with colleagues across the business, you will manage a portfolio of renewal and new business opportunities, deliver high-quality underwriting outcomes, and contribute to the continued growth and profitability of the portfolio.

 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Underwrite new and renewal Fine Art & Specie business across Asia.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, cedants and reinsurance partners.

  • Achieve portfolio profitability, retention and growth objectives.

  • Deliver responsive service and collaborate with key internal stakeholders.

  • Support business development, marketing initiatives and industry engagement.

  • Contribute to portfolio analysis, reporting and continuous improvement activities.

The Candidate - Skills, Qualifications & Experience

About You

You are an experienced insurance professional with strong underwriting and relationship management capability. You have a proven track record of managing a portfolio of business, building broker and distribution relationships, and making sound commercial decisions that support profitable growth.

You enjoy working collaboratively with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders, while maintaining a strong focus on service, results, and portfolio performance. You are commercially minded, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

 

Essential

  • 3-5 years of relevant Insurance underwriting and/or broking experience

  • Experience managing a portfolio of business

  • Demonstrated success in business development and relationship management

  • Strong commercial and underwriting judgement

  • Established relationships within insurance distribution networks

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable

  • Experience underwriting Fine Art & Specie business

  • Knowledge of insurance markets across Asia
