Purpose
We are currently recruiting for a Process Engineer to join our team of world-class experts and dynamic problem-solvers. The successful candidate will support the delivery of process engineering services across a diverse portfolio of energy, chemicals, resources, and industrial projects. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Process Engineer will contribute to engineering studies, design activities, technical analyses, and project execution across various stages of the project lifecycle. This role offers opportunities for professional growth, technical development, and exposure to a variety of project types and industries. This is a full-time position based in either Calgary, Edmonton, or Vancouver.
Responsibilities
- Deliver process engineering services that meet Worley, its customers, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Perform process engineering activities such as:
- Assist in identifying and reporting changes to project scope.
- Support the preparation of proposals, estimates, budgets, and schedules.
- Assist with procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Contribute to technical studies, process analyses, troubleshooting, and optimization initiatives.
- Prepare engineering calculations, reports, process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, equipment data sheets, and other technical documentation.
- Support feasibility studies, conceptual design, FEED, detailed engineering, and brownfield modification projects.
- Develop and review process engineering deliverables with guidance from senior team members when required.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, customer requirements, and Worley procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams, customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Participate in design reviews, hazard reviews, and project meetings.
- Continue developing technical knowledge and process engineering capability through project experience and ongoing learning.
- Maintain awareness of industry developments, emerging technologies, and engineering best practices.
- Identify issues and problems, develop solutions, and seek guidance when required.
- Contribute to a culture of safety, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Technical and Industry Experience
- Relevant process engineering experience within the energy, chemicals, resources, industrial, or related sectors.
- Good technical and practical engineering skills with the ability to deliver quality and accurate work.
- Understanding of process engineering fundamentals and engineering design principles.
- Experience supporting the development of process engineering deliverables such as calculations, process simulations, PFDs, P&IDs, reports, and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of applicable engineering standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with process engineering software such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or similar applications.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality work within project schedules.
- Willingness to learn, develop technical expertise, and take on increasing responsibility.
Education, Qualifications, Accreditation, Training Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT), Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), or eligibility for registration with APEGA or another Canadian engineering association.
- Experience within consulting, engineering services, EPCM, or owner-operator environments.
- Exposure to upstream, midstream, downstream, petrochemical, refining, LNG, CCUS, hydrogen, renewable fuels, mining, or industrial processing facilities.
For applicants based in the province of British Columbia, the salary range is $74,639 to $140,784
