Position Overview

Administer chemotherapeutic and biologic agents, as well as supportive care medications as prescribed by a physician.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recognize and treat cancer-related and treatment-related issues.

  • Monitor and chart vital signs, document in the medication administration record.

Requirements

  • Valid New York State RN License

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required

  • Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills

  • Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching

  • Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times

  • Reliable transportation to travel to NYCBS locations for patient care needs

  • At least 1 year of experience in an oncology outpatient center or at least 1 year of experience in administering medications preferred. At least 1 year of patient care experience REQUIRED

Pay Range

USD $52.00 - USD $52.00 /Hr.
