Laundry Attendant (PM)
About this role
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the hotel's laundry operations during evening/pm shifts and in accordance to the policy and brand standards.
Major Duties and Responsibilities

- Responsible for sorting, washing, drying, pressing and folding of all linen.
- Responsible for safe operation of all Laundry equipment.
- Maintain inventory of laundry chemicals
- Handling/Inventory of all re-wash and discards
- Inventory of all linen as needed
- Maintain proper cleanliness and orderliness of laundry area including store rooms
- Collection and processing of recyclable items
- Other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisors Management Team.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
- Completion of High School Education or equivalent;
- Knowledge on how to properly use and maintain cleaning equipment;
- Knowledge of chemical usage and safety;
- WHMIS training, an asset;
- Previous hotel experience an asset;
- Must be able to take direction and work with minimum supervision;
- Good customer service and communication skills;
- Must have a pleasant, outgoing personality;
- Must be honest, reliable and dependable and practice good hygiene;
- Must be a team orientated individual with good interactive skill.
- Must demonstrate behaviour consistent with core values.
- Must be able to stand, walk for long periods of time
- Must be able to push / pull / lift 50 pounds
- Bending posture frequently while sorting linens
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
- High school graduate or equivalent.
Mental Effort
- Mental effort required in multi-tasking and handling interruptions that require refocusing.
- Listening and mental attentiveness in tasks assigned by Housekeeping Manager.
Physical Effort
- Some heavy lifting required.
- Standing for long periods of time.
Working Conditions
- Use of cleaning and washing chemicals
Type of Supervision Required
Reports to the Housekeeping Manager. Works under general instructions to prioritize and complete assigned tasks.
