The Delta St. John's Hotel is a 403 room fast paced, high volume conference hotel. We strive to foster a strong service culture and team environment so that the needs of our guests and associates are met in equal measure.

We are seeking a qualified Banquet Bartender. This is a CASUAL position. We offer an attractive wage and benefits package, uniforms, bi-weekly vacation, discounted meals, Rewards Program, along with many travel perks with Marriott Hotels.

This position involves evenings & weekends at this time and preference will be given to candidates with server experience.

A Valid Open Work permit is required.

The Banquet Bartender provides prompt and courteous beverage service to banquet guests during banquet/ catering functions ensuring guests’ satisfaction.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • POSITION DESCRIPTION: 
    • To serve hosted/cash bars during banquet service.
    • To ensure bars are fully set and stocked.
    • To maintain cleanliness and organization in beverage stockroom.
    • Banquet service duties, including meals, breaks, etc. as required and assigned.
    • Porter Duties, sets ups, breakdown of meeting rooms.
    • To maintain hotel standards at all times.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

    • Must be a high school graduate or possess Level III equivalency;
    • Mixology course, an asset;
    • Cash handling experience, an asset
    • Previous experience in a similar environment a must;
    • Knowledge of all types of beer, liquor and wines required;
    • Must have excellent customer service skills;
    • Interpersonal and communication skills required;
    • Must be an honest, reliable and dependable candidate.
    • Must be team oriented;
    • Must demonstrate behavior consistent with core values;
    • Must be a responsible, organized individual who can work with minimum supervision;

 

Health and Safety:

 

  • Follow hotel safe work procedures and policy, including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Know and comply with all Occupational Health & Safety regulations, as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Ministry of Labour.
  • Report all injuries or illnesses to a supervisor or manager immediately.
  • Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee by bringing health and safety concerns or issues to the attention of the committee.
