About this role

The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority welcomes exceptional talent with a passion to realise the vision and mission of making the West Kowloon Cultural District a prime local and international destination for arts, culture and entertainment.

(This is a fixed-term contract position of 6-month with possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance.)

You will be responsible for:

  • Planning and ensuring smooth running of Performing Arts events;
  • Coordinating across internal departments for Performing Arts events;
  • Liaising with event materials vendors including vendor and quotation sourcing, materials logistics and setup;
  • Planning for signage and guest flow support for Performing Arts events;
  • Scheduling and communicating with event helpers;
  • Monitoring event budget and keeping track of event expenses;
  • Managing administrative duties including consolidation of event overview, event
    scheduling, meeting documents and presentation materials; and
  • Performing any duties from time to time as reasonably as assigned by the Authority.


You should:

  • Have tertiary education or above;
  • Preferably have around 1 year of relevant experience in event management, performing arts, art and cultural functions;
  • Have good knowledge of event and front-of-house operation;
  • Have customer service mentality;
  • Have good organizational skills;
  • Have good oral and written communication in Cantonese, Putonghua and English;
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word and Outlook;
  • Be able to work in outdoor environment; and
  • Be required to work on shift according to the duty roster assigned including weekends and public holiday.

Stretching across 40 hectares of reclaimed land, WestK is one of the largest cultural projects in the world, blending art, education and open space.

Its vision is to create a vibrant cultural quarter for Hong Kong where the local arts scene can interact, develop and collaborate. Providing 23 hectares of public open space with two kilometres of vibrant harbour-front promenade it will also include a variety of arts and cultural facilities that will produce and host world-class exhibitions, performances and arts and cultural events.

A Development Plan for the District, based on well-received Foster + Partner’s Conceptual Plan, was approved by the Chief Executive-in-Council in January 2013. Overlooking the magnificent Victoria Harbour, the District will begin to take shape over the next decade.

By developing this sizable project in phases we can start to bring the district to life. The Xiqu Centre, Freespace, Art Park, M+, Hong Kong Palace Museum and Lyric Theatre Complex, will be developed as a first batch of facilities aiming for opening to the public.

The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority is a statutory body responsible for developing the West Kowloon Cultural District. Led by the Board and an executive team comprising experts from different sectors, our vision is to build a vibrant cultural quarter for the city, dedicated to bringing together local and international artists and audiences to be inspired and to celebrate the arts.
