Job Description
General Summary Of Duties:
Utilize quality and knowledgeable paint/repair practices to wallpaper, paint and repair dry wall.
Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)
Maintain, operate and repair work projects.
Comply with and provide data during work progression to establish job standardization programs. Provide reports of operations, maintenance and repair to supervisory personnel.
Maintain craft or trade up grading to increase proficiency and promote operational and maintenance efficiency.
Operate spray gun, hopper, climb ladders and operate lifts to work in high areas using rollers, brushes, tapper tools, paper tools to paint, tape, texture, paper.
Remove and reapply paint finish to furniture with hazardous chemicals and paints. Repair and maintain building and structures.
Climb ladders to paint ceilings and walls arms extended to reach awkward positions down to floor level to paint base boards.
Qualifications
Performance Requirements: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)
- Ability to effectively deal with internal/external customers, some of whom will require patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and solve customer concerns.
- Ability to act independently.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to complete work orders, trip tickets, blue prints, etc. and communicate with superiors and other employees.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to measure and determine supplies and cost estimates.
- Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use brush, roller, power drill, spray equipment, ruler, straight edge razors, land tools, ladders, trowels and taping equipment.
- This position requires considerable physical activity on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
- Ability to grasp, bend, stoop, reach, kneel, crouch lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 100 lbs. to a height of 6 feet on a continuous basis.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in case of emergency situations and to read caution and/or safety notices.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to comprehend product labeling instructions to enable safe application of products and processes.
- Ability to remain alert throughout the duration of shift.
- Ability to climb ladders/stairs to complete job duties.
- Ability to perform duties in a confined space.
- Ability to support a utility belt weighing a maximum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to complete job requirements, reports and to communicate with management and other employees.
- Ability to reach over head for extended periods.
- Ability to push/pull paint supplies weighing a maximum of 800 lbs. using a handcart on an intermittent basis.
- Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards.
- Ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
