About this role

Key Responsibilities
• Lead moderately complex technical initiatives and provide guidance to junior engineers.
• Design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications across monolithic and microservices platforms.
• Drive modernization efforts by identifying opportunities to decompose legacy applications into APIs and microservices.
• Build scalable, maintainable, and high-performing solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
• Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Perform technical analysis, impact assessment, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting of production issues.
• Develop secure, resilient, and high-quality code following engineering best practices and coding standards.
• Create and maintain architecture, design, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with Product Owners, Architects, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
• Support CI/CD implementation and promote Agile, DevOps, and cloud-native engineering practices.
• Monitor application health and performance using enterprise observability tools.
• Contribute to engineering communities of practice and help drive technology innovation.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 11/17+ and advanced Java programming concepts.
• Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Design Principles, Design Patterns, and SOLID principles.
• Strong experience building and supporting Microservices architectures using REST APIs and event-driven patterns.
• Experience modernizing applications from monolithic architectures to cloud-native solutions.
• Strong experience with:
Spring Framework (Core, MVC, Boot, Batch, AOP)
REST and SOAP Web Services
JMS and Messaging Systems
Kafka and Event Streaming
OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) / Kubernetes
Docker and Containerization
• Experience working with: Oracle, MongoDB
• Experience with source control and CI/CD tools: Github/GitSas/GitWorkflow, Jenkin/Harness, Gradle,SonarQube/Checkmax/Blachduck
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and SDLC processes.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools: Splunk, AppDynamics,CloudWatch,Elastic Stack

Desired Qualifications
• Experience with cloud platforms such as:OCP/PCF / Tanzu
• Experience deploying and managing applications on OpenShift/Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with API Gateway and API Management platforms such as Apigee.
• Experience implementing event-driven architectures using Kafka/JMS/MQ.
• Knowledge of security best practices, OAuth, JWT, TLS/HTTPS, and enterprise authentication mechanisms.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, TDD/BDD, Cucumber, Karate, and test automation frameworks.
• Exposure to front-end technologies such as Angular, React, or HTML5.
• Prior experience in banking, financial services, or other highly regulated environments is a plus.
