Position Summary:

The Account Manager role is a headquarter account management role with responsibility for Ulta, JCP and Beauty Brands business. The role is accountable to lead and execute with excellence a Joint Business Plan developed and aligned at the customer headquarters but that comes to life in over 2,000 salons and stores combined, nationwide. The Account Manager is expected to deliver channel/ brand business targets, including growing revenue and share through superior sales fundamentals (i.e. price, distribution, merchandising, shelving), which special attention to the needs of a salon and store business. 

The role will have direct selling & account management responsibilities and will partner with Trade Marketing, Brand Marketing, Finance, Analytics, Demand Planning and Education teams to develop and execute business plans that meet or exceed targets.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Key Account Development – Identifies and develops a plan of growth and expansion within assigned channel for existing retail business & salons to increase market share and develop new partnerships
  • Leads the overall strategy, tactics, and execution of joint business plans and serves as key contact for the customer.
  • Leads the development and execution of all presentations to customers for the selected portfolio of brands/products.
  • Owns sales fundamentals: distribution, shelving, pricing, and promotion to drive business.
  • Owns customer digital experience: Content, Assortment & Availability, and Ratings & Reviews.
  • Works to be a resource for customers by constantly being in touch with the Salon landscape, competitive activity, and industry trends.
  • Identifies both customer specific and industry data and insights to further sales opportunities.
  • Leads monthly analysis for internal reviews with regular input to presentation content for North American leadership and Global reviews.
  • Owns all forecasting for assigned customers, accurately forecasting the business and working proactively with Demand planning parters for major shifts in the business.
  • Directs Trade Marketing and SBD (Shopper Based Design) to bring store and salon vision to life.
  • Works in tandem with Education team to bring business and craft education to stylists, driving the overall salon business.
  • Works in partnership with Marketing to drive initiative and commercial amplification plans via customer channels.
  • Manages customer budgets to include co-ops, marketing and promotional funds, optimizing business impact and high ROI activities.
  • Owns overall P&L management for customers, managing business to deliver volume, share and ROI targets.

 

Qualifications:  

  • 5+ years’ experience managing a national account, required
  • Professional salon industry and beauty background strongly preferred
  • Experience managing headquarter accounts, specifically managing buyer/merchant relationships at a high level
  • Experience in forecasting, business planning, and trade spend management
  • Experience in customer marketing, planogram analysis, and Ecom management
  • Experience with syndicated data and analysis
  • Passionate about industry and self-motivated
  • Excellent communicator who can navigate a matrixed organization
  • Comfortable presenting to C-suite
  • High level of organization, time management & attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Flexibility to travel
  • Valid Drivers License

 

We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, skills and in comparison to internal incumbents currently in similar roles—pay Range: 91K-120K salary per year plus bonus. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role. In addition, Wella Company provides a rich variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
