Position: Product Support Specialist
Reports to: Regional Automation Manager - Central

Role Type: Hybrid
Pay Range: $70,000 - $80,000

Provide technical support to the local Sales organization and customers by identifying the most suitable and cost-effective solutions. Develop and present technical proposals for applied products and technologies to support the end-to-end sales process. Serve as a key technical resource for supporting divisions.

Main Accountabilities

Sales Support

  • Provide technical guidance and input on customer, channel, and sales engineer inquiries related to Weidmüller products, systems, and applications.
  • Support technical meetings, product presentations, and negotiations with expert advice.

Diagnostic Studies

  • Perform analytical and diagnostic evaluations to assess customer requirements and recommend the most appropriate technical solutions that align with product capabilities and business objectives.
  • Propose solutions for complex and customized inquiries.

Technical Presentations

  • Prepare and deliver in-depth technical presentations and product demonstrations to both internal teams and external customers, addressing complex product-related topics.

Training

  • Deliver training sessions on products, solutions, and services to enhance internal and customer knowledge.
  • Prepares demonstration equipment for sales team, partners, and our end customers. 

Technical Publications

  • Draft and review technical articles and documentation for publication and internal use.

Competitive Analysis

  • Analyze customer requirements and competitor offerings using market intelligence and input from the sales organization.
  • Complete technical cross-references as needed to support competitive positioning.

Education/ Experience/ Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical, Software Engineering
  • Experience with Industrial Control products and/or application knowledge in industrial automation
  • Competency with programming languages such as ANSI C, Structured Text (ST), Ladder Diagram (LD), Python, Node-Red, and familiarity with Codesys is considered a strong asset
  • Successful completion of the certified Engineering Launchpad training program (3 months) will be required
  • Additional certified Sales Launchpad training is expected to be completed within the first year
