The role…

The Head of Controlling leads all controlling activities for the U.S. legal entity and manufacturing operations across the United States while serving as the Site Controller for the St. Johnsbury, VT manufacturing campus. This role provides strategic financial leadership by overseeing financial reporting, cost accounting, planning, forecasting, and operational performance. As a key member of the finance leadership team, the Head of Controlling partners with business leaders to drive financial performance, ensure compliance, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

 

How you’ll make an impact…

  • Lead the U.S. controlling function by overseeing financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management while ensuring compliance with IFRS, corporate policies, and internal controls.
  • Partner with operations and business leaders to analyze financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, support strategic initiatives, and provide actionable recommendations that improve profitability and operational results.
  • Oversee manufacturing costing, inventory valuation, capital investment analysis, and financial planning processes to ensure accurate reporting and informed business decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement by leading finance transformation initiatives, standardizing processes, optimizing ERP systems, and supporting digital and operational improvements across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Develop and lead a high-performing controlling organization by coaching site controllers and finance professionals, fostering collaboration, and aligning financial strategies with regional and global business objectives.

What do you bring…

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required; MBA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance, accounting, or controlling experience, including at least 5 years of leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, inventory valuation, and IFRS reporting within a multi-site or global organization.
  • Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (SAP FI/CO preferred), Microsoft Excel, financial reporting tools, and data analysis, with experience driving process improvements and finance transformation initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence cross-functional stakeholders, communicate complex financial information, and support strategic business decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
