Weaver is seeking talented and motivated Investment Funds Tax Associates to join our growing US Tax practice. This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to build a career in US tax compliance and consulting within the financial services industry.

The successful candidate will be a team player who demonstrates initiative, accepts responsibility, communicates effectively, and manages multiple concurrent assignments of varying sizes and complexity. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the flexibility to meet client and team deadlines during peak periods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review Federal and State tax returns for partnerships and corporations.
  • Prepare and analyse financial and tax data for Investment Fund clients.
  • Utilize tax software and research tools to support compliance and consulting engagements.
  • Collaborate with team members and managers to deliver high-quality client service.
  • Perform tax research and communicate findings effectively.
  • Assist with various special projects and client deliverables as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience in US Tax.
  • Experience preparing Federal tax returns, including:
    • Form 1065 (Partnership Returns)
    • Form 1120 (Corporate Returns)
  • Experience preparing or supporting State tax returns.
  • Proficiency in tax and workflow applications such as:
    • CCH Axcess
    • ProSystem fx Engagement
    • GoFileRoom
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to work from the office and collaborate closely with team members and managers.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours when business or client needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in US Taxation, CPA or EA Pursuing or Qualified.
  • Experience serving clients in the Financial Services industry.
  • Knowledge of: Tax provisions, Tax journal entries, Tax adjustments and reconciliations
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including formulas, data analysis, and workpaper automation.
  • Experience using tax research tools such as:
    • Thomson Reuters Checkpoint
    • CCH Research
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
