Service Technician III - TRS
About this role
Job Purpose
The Service Technician III is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and reliable Tubular Running Services (TRS) at the wellsite. The role involves operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting TRS equipment while supporting the Crew Chief and ensuring all operations meet Weatherford, customer, and HSE requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform TRS operations including casing, tubing, and other tubular running activities.
- Operate, rig up, test, and rig down TRS equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct equipment inspections and basic maintenance before, during, and after operations.
- Monitor torque, equipment performance, and operational parameters.
- Troubleshoot equipment and operational issues and escalate when required.
- Follow Weatherford and customer HSE policies, procedures, and job requirements.
- Participate in pre-job meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate job reports, equipment records, and service documentation.
- Work closely with the Crew Chief, rig crew, and customer representatives to ensure smooth operations.
- Support and mentor junior TRS personnel when required.
- Maintain a professional, customer-focused approach at all times.
Skills
Strong hands-on knowledge of TRS equipment and rig-floor operations.
- Good understanding of casing and tubing running procedures.
- Experience with power tongs, elevators, slips, torque systems, and related TRS equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and operational issues.
- Strong HSE awareness and commitment to safe working practices.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced rig-site environment.
- Strong attention to detail and operational discipline.
- Willingness to work extended shifts and rotational schedules.
Qualifications
Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Oil & Gas, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant TRS experience, preferably as a TRS Field Specialist / Field Service Specialist or equivalent.
- Proven experience in casing and tubing running operations.
- Hands-on experience with TRS equipment and rig-site operations.
- Experience with mechanized or automated TRS systems is an advantage.
- Previous Middle East or UAE experience is preferred.
- Valid HSE and relevant wellsite certifications are an advantage.
- Must be medically fit and able to work in a demanding rig-site environment.
