Job Overview

The R&M Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising all repair and maintenance activities and personnel within the workshop facility. The R&M supervisor plays a key role in ensuring equipment preparation is completed in a timely manner, safely and in full compliance with Weatherford OEPS, quality, OEM and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and provide supervision for R&M LWD and MWD 
  • Lead Technicians/Technicians, as well as other facility support personnel 
  • Responsible for personnel management; plan for personnel changes, forecast changes in personnel levels, source local recruits 
  • Responsible for the development of Workshop personnel and the tracking of their training progress and competencies; must be actively involved in promotion reviews and training planning 
  • Responsible for prioritizing equipment repairs/manufacturing in collaboration with Asset Management and Global Product Line Managers (GPLM) to meet global demand requirements 
  • Collaborate with Workshop R&M/MFG LWD, MWD and RSS Lead Technicians to plan repairs of equipment and establish when they will be completed 
  • Responsible for regularly communicating to R&M MANAGER the status of equipment repairs including expected, asset utilization, completion date and expected repair costs 
  • Responsible for ensuring all necessary upgrades or modifications are performed as per instructions in ECNs from Product Engineering 
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Research & Development, Product Engineering, Operations, and Global R&M to develop ways to improve procedures, systems, and equipment of existing and developing LWD, MWD and RSS technologies for improved customer satisfaction  
  • Responsible for ensuring failure analysis processes are adhered to and completed in as timely a manner as is possible 
  • Collaborate with Workshop R&M LWD, MWD, RSS Lead Technicians and production Planner to manage the ordering of parts, repairing of parts, and setting of minimum stock levels 
  • Participates in managing inventory; maintaining total value, accuracy, control
  • Responsible for ensuring all facility financial work order activities are accurate and timely (parts and labor hours) 
  • Daily to weekly cadence with Master scheduler/Planner on the tool requirements for 30,60,90 Days.
  • Responsible for ensuring all assets are accounted for and records in WAM system are accurate and up to date 
  • Responsible for ensuring all workshop equipment is maintained in good order, all calibrations are up to date, and the documentation for both is kept in WFRD system.
  • Responsible for managing the R&M facility, ensuring it is kept efficiently organized and equipped with necessary supplies and tools, and it is clean and free of debris, grease, oil, water, mud, and any other form of trash daily, and paint when needed to keep the shop looking new and maintain an image of a quality workshop meeting Weatherford Drilling Services standards of excellence
  • Responsible for ensuring all Service Delivery Quality management systems including service records pertaining to R&M/MFG applications are utilized and accurate. All quality management processes are utilized (NCRs, OFIs, CRs) 
  • Perform various other duties and activities assigned by Management within the physical constraints of the job. 
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment. 
  • Know, understand, and promote Weatherford’s OEP system and comply with all requirements of the Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions

Qualifications

  • Technical degree in Engineering, Electronics, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • At least 5+ years of leadership experience, preferably in an oilfield R&M environment (LWD, MWD, DD, RSS)
  • Hands-on experience managing R&M operations and mechanical workshop activities
