Job Description:
The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting the daily operations of the Parts department. This position coordinates inventory activities, monitors backordered parts, processes inventory transactions, assists with purchasing, and serves as a key liaison between vendors, production, and customer service. The Inventory Control Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring material availability, inventory integrity, and timely communication regarding parts and order status.
Hourly Rate: $26.00
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate inventory records by monitoring inventory transactions and investigating discrepancies.
- Perform inventory audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Monitor inventory levels and identify shortages or excess inventory.
- Assist in maintaining inventory organization and proper material identification.
- Coordinate inventory adjustments and document inventory variances.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control and warehouse processes.
Parts Coordination
- Monitor and follow up on backordered parts with vendors to ensure timely delivery.
- Obtain estimated delivery dates (ETAs) from suppliers and communicate updates to internal departments.
- Research and identify correct replacement parts using bills of materials, engineering drawings, parts manuals, and vendor resources.
- Coordinate the availability of parts to support production schedules and customer orders.
Purchasing Support
- Prepare and submit purchase requisitions for inventory and operational requirements.
- Work with Purchasing to expedite critical orders and resolve supply issues.
- Monitor open purchase requests and follow up on outstanding orders.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2–5 years of inventory control, purchasing, warehouse administration, or parts coordination experience.
- Manufacturing or heavy equipment industry experience preferred.
Experience working with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in both an office and warehouse environment.
Frequent use of a computer and standard office equipment.
