Waste Connections is hiring a Gas Technician to work outdoors while learning advanced skills like HDPE pipe fusion, pneumatic pump maintenance, and gas system monitoring. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40–50 hours per week with occasional Saturdays
Pay: $21–$25 DOE

Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform routine system inspections and repairs on the landfill
  • Work with Lead Landfill Gas Technician to ensure compliance
  • Maintain relationships with landfill employees, consultants, and vendors
  • Use gas analyzer to monitor gas wells and probes
  • Perform maintenance on pneumatic pumps, including removal, inspection, and repairs
  • Monitor liquid levels in gas wells
  • HDPE pipe fusion

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to follow established procedures with minimal supervision
  • Coachable and able to learn safe landfill navigation
  • Willingness to work outdoors for most of the day
  • Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Flexibility to perform a variety of tasks
  • Provide on-call response to gas collection system
  • Experience with hand and power tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and draw conclusions from data
  • Veterans encouraged to apply

  • Experience with leachate collection systems
