The schedule for this full-time, 2nd shift bindery position is:
Monday – Thursday, 3 PM to 1 AM (10-hour shifts)
Job Summary
As a Bindery - Assistant you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations across various Bindery equipment by performing a variety of manual tasks to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. This position plays a vital role in assisting skilled workers, handling materials, preparing workstations, and maintaining workplace safety and productivity.
Essential Functions
Perform general labor tasks such as material handling, staging and loading products.
Assist machine operators with job set-up and basic tasks as needed.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of assigned areas by sweeping disposing of waste and maintaining supply levels.
Follow all safety procedures as set forth by Walsworth
Operate basic tools and equipment safely and as directed.
Read and understand the written information pertaining to the job.
All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to remain organized and self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to learn computer applications as necessary for the position.
Ability to read, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions, work procedures and other related materials.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong customer service skills.
Must communicate appropriate information accurately and clearly as needed.
Ability to work overtime beyond the standard 40-hour workweek depending on production requirements.
Ability to be flexible, dependable, and have a strong work ethic is essential.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.
Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects or use controls, tools or equipment.
May require the ability to use a keyboard and other office equipment.
May require specific vision abilities that include close vision.
May be required to perform concentrated work for extended periods of time.
May be required to lift, carry or exert items or objects of reasonable weight.
May be required to perform duties beyond standard business hours.
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent.
