What You'll Be Doing

The Grants Compliance Officer provides monitoring and compliance for the full lifecycle of the County-wide grants program as established by NC General Statutes, county policies and grant agreements.

This position, in collaboration with the County’s Grants Team, supports the full lifecycle of grant administration, including development and updates of grant-related policies and procedures, employee training and technical assistance and audit assistance to County departments and programs as needed. 

The Essential functions for the Grants Compliance Officer position include:

  • Review all grants quarterly to ensure compliance with established procedures
  • Review, in conjunction with the Grants Team, all grant requests submitted by departments to ensure proper setup, monitoring, tracking and compliance
  • Coordinates with the Grants Team to develop and maintain grant policies and procedures
  • Assists with monitoring and reporting of grants through the County’s financial system
  • Review grant related Board of Commissioner agenda items for policy compliance
  • Serves as the system administrator for external grant portals used by various departments for grant reporting

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • Three years of experience in accounting, finance, budgeting or grant management
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

  • Two (2) years of grants compliance or grants management experience

  • Thorough knowledge of applicable County, State and Federal policies, including government and foundational granting requirements and grants administration
  • Solid analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to use logic and reasoning and identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions

Work Schedule: 8:30 am - 5:15 pm

Hiring Range: 80,000 - 100,000

Market Range: 76,986.00 - 138,582.00
