What You'll Be Doing

We are seeking a knowledgeable and supportive Adult Medicaid Eligibility Team Lead to support our Private Living Medicaid Recertification and SSI unit. This role provides direct leadership, guidance, and quality oversight to staff while maintaining a strong focus on policy accuracy, case management excellence, and effective collaboration with internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely responses to staff policy questions and handle inquiries from the general public and facility representatives.
  • Prepare and deliver mini-trainings to support staff development and reinforce Medicaid policy and procedural updates.
  • Meet regularly with new or developing staff to review work, monitor progress, and provide ongoing mentoring.
  • Maintain case action and case management responsibilities for vacant caseloads and in instances where staff are absent, on sick leave, or out on extended leave.
  • Conduct quality reviews of staff casework to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with area facilities, attorneys, and other external partners.
  • Serve as a local hearing officer for Adult Medicaid cases as needed.
  • Engage with families and caregivers, providing information, direction, and assistance regarding services and program needs.
  • Evaluate team workloads regularly and recommend organizational or procedural changes to improve efficiency.
  • Interpret policy for staff and coordinate with the state for clarification when necessary.
  • Review employee casework routinely to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Support SSI team members with troubleshooting tasks, SDX exceptions, and case-related task management.
  • Assist with daily updates and oversight of the SSI assignment spreadsheet.
  • Pull, review, and work various operational reports to support team performance and compliance.

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

  • Associate's degree in Human Services or a related field
  • Two years of job-related experience
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted
  • Please include ALL prior work experience on your application and resume.

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

  • Two or more years of case manager experience in Adult Medicaid. Experience working in NCFast. Troubleshooting. Basic knowledge of SSI policy.

  • Proficient in Adult Medicaid policy, NCFAST and NCFAST troubleshooting, and Excel

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:15 am-5:15 pm

Hiring Range: 26.82 - 32.79

Market Range: 26.82 - 38.76
