What You'll Be Doing

Wake County General Services is seeking an Administrative ManagerSecurity Projects Manager for the Safety and Security Division. The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and coordinate multiple electronic security system projects, prepare bid documentation, and handle contract administration throughout the project and warranty period. Evaluate and offer expertise on both existing and emerging security systems, equipment, infrastructure, and networks. Monitor compliance with performance standards outlined in corporate and detention security service contracts. Oversee the Physical Security inventory storerooms and update as-built drawings for corporate and detention security systems
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining and upgrading physical security systems to ensure alignment with Wake County’s operational requirements. Evaluate and implement system improvements, monitor system performance, and address hardware and software issues as needed.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of Physical Security systems and end user protocols to provide both proactive and reactive support in a timely manner.
  • Supervise the corporate and detention security maintenance contracts by facilitating work order creation, prioritization, and tracking; maintaining comprehensive inventory records; and managing billing and invoicing processes.
  • Assist in planning, developing, evaluating, and implementing software and hardware upgrades for electronic security systems, including version updates. Coordinate with vendors on programming and troubleshooting during new system installations. Act as a liaison between vendors, internal departments, project teams, and end users to ensure efficient communication and timely project completion.
  • Assist in the development and/or updating of physical security operational policies and procedures, design guidelines, security standards and standard operating procedures (SOP) to ensure they are up-to-date. Train end users on operational processes for the specific systems deployed.
  •  Oversee the inventory of physical security equipment to ensure adequate materials are available to support systems installed across County facilities.

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three years of job-related experience
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

  • Five years of experience in the security industry.
  • Five years of experience in physical security project management and design.
  • Five years of experience with security management systems and video management systems.
  • Experience working with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe, Maximo, and FM Systems.

Hiring Range: 69,421.00 - 93,722.00

Market Range: 69,421.00 - 118,020.00
