Looking for a steady, hands-on job with a good team? We've got a spot in our Christchurch Plate Processing site for a CNC Plasma Machine Operator — running our Kinetic K2000 plasma cutting machines on a permanent morning shift, Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm.
What you'll be doing
- Operating our Kinetic K2000 CNC plasma cutting machines
- Using overhead gantry cranes and lifting equipment safely
- Loading and unloading steel plates and finished parts
- Checking cut quality and completing quality checks
- Labelling, sorting, and processing cut parts
- Helping with routine machine maintenance
- Keeping the machines running efficiently with minimal downtime
- It's a hands-on role — there's lifting and manual work involved, working safely both independently and as part of the team.
Requirements
- CNC plasma, laser, or machine operating experience
- Experience handling steel, plate, or heavy materials
- Overhead crane or forklift experience preferred
- Full Class 1 licence required; F endorsement an advantage
- Good understanding of quality checks and safe machine operation
- Able to work unsupervised
- Physically fit, dependable, and safety-focused
- A valid work visa or the right to work in New Zealand
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test
