About the Role
Vortex, a specialist CIPP (Cured-In-Place Pipe) rehabilitation contractor, is seeking an organised and proactive Transport Coordinator to support our growing operations across the South of the UK. This role is responsible for coordinating vehicles, plant, equipment, and personnel movements to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Working closely with operational teams, suppliers, drivers, and site personnel, you will play an important role in maintaining effective logistical support for day-to-day project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily transport and logistics requirements for operational projects
- Schedule vehicles, plant, equipment, and personnel to meet project demands
- Monitor vehicle utilisation and support efficient resource allocation
- Maintain transport schedules and communicate changes to operational teams
- Liaise with drivers, suppliers, hire companies, and site teams to ensure timely deliveries and collections
- Maintain accurate transport, vehicle, and fleet records
- Monitor MOTs, servicing, inspections, and compliance documentation
- Support fuel usage tracking and fleet performance reporting
- Ensure transport activities comply with company policies and relevant legislation
- Assist with route planning and optimisation to improve efficiency
- Respond to operational issues and provide logistical solutions
- Prepare transport reports and management information as required
- Support the mobilisation and demobilisation of projects
- Represent Vortex professionally in all transport and logistics communications
Requirements
- Previous experience in a transport, logistics, fleet, planning, or coordination role, fleet, planning, or coordination role
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with transport scheduling systems or fleet management software
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience within construction, utilities, drainage, or infrastructure sectors (desirable)
- Knowledge of transport compliance requirements (desirable)
- Full UK driving license
