HR Manager
About this role
The Role
As HR Manager, you will oversee the full employee lifecycle and provide trusted HR support across the business, including:
- Managing employee relations matters including performance management, investigations, hearings and outcomes
- Coordinating occupational health and medical referrals where required
- Reviewing and developing HR policies, procedures, organisational structures and equality monitoring
- Overseeing weekly payroll and benefits administration, including pensions, healthcare, vehicles and Cycle to Work
- Maintaining and developing HR systems in preparation for future integration with the Vortex HRIS
- Partner with the Talent & Workforce Manager and hiring managers on workforce planning, recruitment requirements and selection, with Talent & Workforce leading the end-to-end recruitment process.
- Lead the HR elements of onboarding and internal employee movements, including promotions and transfers, ensuring a smooth employee experience.
- Manage the HR processes associated with leavers, ensuring all documentation, systems and internal processes are completed appropriately.
- Acting as the HR lead for apprenticeships
- Identifying training and development needs and supporting managers to build their people-management capability
- Providing practical HR advice and guidance to managers and employees
- Supporting people-related requirements within tender submissions
- Preparing HR reports and presentations for senior management, using data and trends to inform decision-making
- Ensuring continued compliance with employment legislation and best practice
About You
We’re looking for an HR professional who is:
- Experienced in a generalist HR Manager or senior HR role
- Confident managing complex employee relations matters
- Commercially aware and able to build strong relationships with managers at all levels
- Highly organised, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Confident using HR systems, HRIS/ATS platforms and Microsoft Office
- Comfortable analysing HR data and turning it into meaningful information
- A strong communicator who can provide clear, practical and credible HR advice
- Passionate about developing people and creating a positive workplace culture
- Able to work independently while also being an effective member of the wider management team
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline
- CIPD Level 5 or 7 or equivalent professional qualification is highly desirable
- Minimum 4–6 years’ progressive HR experience, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or management capacity
- Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice
- Experience using HRIS, ATS and Microsoft Office systems
