CCTV Engineer

About this role


The job:

  • You will use the CCTV equipment to measure the heights and depths of the pipe, as well as to check for any damages that needs to be recorded i.e. debris in the pipe or grease build up.
  • Initially the role will involve, you accessing the pipe via manhole covers to put the CCTV camera down the pipe with accuracy.
  • You will then carry out majority of the work from your van which has been installed with the CCTV and computer system for you to carry out the work.
  • You will keep records of the work you are carrying out as this needs to be reported back to the clients you are carrying out the work on behalf of
  • Conduct pre and post rehabilitation surveys to verify condition and quality of CIPP installations
  • Assist with site setup, traffic management coordination, and confined space operations where required
  • Maintain CCTV vehicles, camera systems, and associated equipment in good working order
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation, company procedures, and environmental standards
  • Represent McAllister professionally when working on client sites


Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ proven experience as a CCTV Surveyor within the drainage or utilities sector
  • Certified to WRC OS19X and OS21X (or equivalent recognised CCTV Survey accreditation)
  • Strong working knowledge of MSCC5 defect coding and condition grading
  • Confident in identifying structural defects, infiltration, root ingress, fractures, deformation, and service defects
  • Experience working in live sewer environments and understanding flow control practices
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary site team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid CSR Card (Northern Ireland) or Safe Pass (Republic of Ireland)
  • Full UK / Irish driving licence (essential)
  • Confined Space Training (Medium Risk or High Risk) desirable
